Walking down the red carpet with big sister Selena Gomez could be intimidating, but Gracie Teefey knew just what to do when the two ice princesses blew everyone away at the Frozen 2 premiere last month in Hollywood, Calif.
Gomez talked about her six-year-old sister’s red carpet debut with Nick Grimshaw on BBC One’s music show Sounds, and the Disney-fueled magical time they had in their Marc Jacobs matching outfits, replete with feathers, floral print and jewels.
“I said to her, ‘This is my favorite carpet I have ever done,'” the 27-year-old artist said. “Because she’s never done any of that and we didn’t force her to do that. Everything we do…[is] to keep her safe, but my sister’s become very dramatic now. She’s all about the dresses and the glitter.”
“The dresses and the glitter” were there, all right, but so was the sisterly affection necessary for any of Teefey’s red carpet jitters.
“I bent down and I looked at her before we stepped on and said, ‘If you get nervous, if you get overwhelmed, just pull my hand and I’ll take you off immediately,'” the “Look At Her Now” singer recalled about their night to remember. “And she’s like, ‘K,’ and walked straight on the carpet and has her full moment with the feathers. I’m standing there, and I’m like, ‘Gracie, get me in the picture too.'”
