Charli XCX made a splash during her Saturday Night Live debut on Dec. 13, performing two songs from her upcoming album, Sucker.
After giving memorable performances at the American Music Awards and New York’s Jingle Ball on Friday (Dec. 12), the British singer-songwriter didn’t disappoint during her first SNL appearance, where she performed “Boom Clap” and “Break the Rules.”

The pop singer’s appearance on SNL arrived just days ahead of her thrilling sophomore album, Sucker, which is scheduled for release on Dec. 16. She also just received the Hitmaker honor at this year’s Billboard Women In Music event.
The recent Billboard cover star turned heads in 2013 with her first major LP, True Romance), and wasted little time in recording album number two. It was originally supposed to come out Oct. 21, but the success of “Boom Clap” — her first Hot 100 hit as a lead artist — convinced Neon Gold and Atlantic to wait a little longer.
Although the latest episode of SNL was light on musical sketches, host Martin Freeman — who portrays Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit — played a pretty mean saxophone during one of the skits. Check it out below.
