Sam Tsui’s latest album dropped last week, and today Billboard has an exclusive video premiere for the title track “Trust.”
The intense visual portrays paranoia and tension in a relationship, all playing out at an unusual dinner party drenched in blood red lighting and featuring a twist ending. When it came to bringing his “dark, funky” song to life, Tsui says he knew he had to create something visually stunning for the video.
““The song explores the insecurities we feel in relationships when the communication and trust start to break down,” the singer explains. “For the video, we went all-out with an over-the-top sexy spy fantasy complete with poisoned martinis, an enigmatic briefcase, and a fight scene that’s like a gay Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I love this video and album, and I know the fans will too.”
