U.K.-based music and fashion magazine Clash features a nude Rita Ora as the fourth face of Issue 109. The 27-year-old pop singer’s sophomore album, Phoenix, is due out on Nov. 23, more than six years after her studio debut, 2012’s Ora and she tells the magazine that the delay was a result of her tenacity in the face of doubters. A raft of issues, from legal troubles to bad relationships delayed the sophomore album’s release, but Ora pushed through the years leading up to it, gaining complete creative control and driving the release her own way.
“I feel like I’ve just started, in the weirdest way,” she tells the magazine about her artistic reinvention. “I know some people in the industry who I won’t name but who have messaged me to say, ‘You’re a badass for doing what you did.’ I earned a new found respect. Now, though, it’s time to put that stuff away and get this chapter going.”
The record is set to feature some of Rita’s recent collaborations including “For You” with Liam Payne, “Summer Love” with Rudimental and “Girls” with Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha and Cardi B. It will also contain lead single “Your Song” and recently debuted “Let You Love Me.”
Clash‘s Issue 109 also highlights artists including Quavo, Jessie Reyez, Brockhampton, Kim Petra, Jay Rock, Noname, Bakar, MNEK, Tom Morello, Father, Flohio, Pale Waves and Steven Van Zandt.
