International singer-songwriter Reneé Dominique enlisted the help of Jason Mraz for her latest single, “Could I Love You Any More.” The video for the stunning duet, which Billboard premieres below, has the young singer seated outside at a café while she pens the lyrics to the touching ballad with Mraz.
Dominique’s soft and airy vocals compliment Mraz, who accompanies her on acoustic guitar throughout the song. During the three-minute video, Dominique and Mraz are shown rehearsing the song in various venues before a full-band performance later that night.
The budding singer-songwriter resides in Manila, Philippines, and says “Could I Love You Any More” is a rhetorical question and is a “heart’s anthem for those who overflow in love.” The video for the song was filmed in Manila and Singapore and directed by Jeff Coffman.
“It’s more than just a song about romance between lovers. ‘Could I Love You Any More’ is a tune that celebrates all kinds of love for all kinds of relationships: Between parent and child, a man and wife, a couple on courtship, or someone yearning for a true friend,” she tells Billboard. “For me, it is a kickstart to an amazing friendship ahead with Jason.”
Adds Mraz, “The journey of a song begins with a thought, in the mind or of the heart. Then it reaches the tip of a pen or the tip of the tongue. From there it’s expressed beyond paper, through instruments, into microphones, and on to stages, where it is received and held by audiences, stored in memories and cameras. The music video follows the journey of two songwriters seeing an idea through, from the flower of a thought to colorful fruition.”
