Rachel Platten started off 2018 with a fiery performance. The bellowing crooner dropped by The Late Late Show With James Corden to perform the soaring single “Collide” from her Waves album Wednesday (Jan. 10)
The song’s bare chords and Platten’s ethereal voice blended with the baroque style scenery, with a procession of bright strings and a booming kick drum following suit. Dripped in a sea of vibrant flowers and an ambient pulse of light, the New York native seemed to be floating in a wave of emotion: “Come in crashing to me, because I want us to collide,” she preached.
Platten called her latest effort Waves a no-filter album, saying it showed all of her sides. “I’m so proud of this (album),” Platten told Billboard in a recent visit to our Pop Shop Podcast. “I’ve never been more proud of anything I’ve made. I love these songs.”
