Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week Billboard taps chart-topping artists and taste-makers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard’s Spotify account. We give the artists free reign to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.
Pop singer-songwriter Quinn XCII just dropped the deluxe edition of his 2017 album The Story of Us and is about to head out on tour. Before the Detroit native gears up for what will undoubtedly be a huge year, Quinn is giving his fans an exclusive look at his pre-show playlist.
“Before a show I always deal with a mixture of emotions, no matter what show, the size of the crowd, or how many times I’ve performed,” he admits. How do you get rid of pre-show jitters? A kick-ass list of pump-up jams, of course.
Quinn’s eclectic playlist features songs of every genre, from Michael Jackson’s groovy classic “P.Y.T” to Drake’s most recent Billboard Hot 100-topping single “God’s Plan” and The All-American Rejects inspirational rock jam “Move Along” to Julia Michaels‘ catchy pop track “Uh Huh.”
“The genre, mood, tempo, and energy of these songs is all over the map — I think it’s the constant change in direction that keeps me focused and prepared to hit the stage,” Quinn says of the playlist. “I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I do.”
