Prettymuch and CNCO — two of the hottest boy bands of the moment — have dropped their first-ever collaboration in “Me Necesita.” The song and acompanying video were unveiled on Wednesday morning (Oct. 23).
In “Me Necesita,” which translates to “She Needs Me,” the American-Canadian and Latin American boy bands joined forces to bring to life a Spanglish bop that fuses sultry beats of reggaeton, pop, dance, and Hip-Hop. With a catchy chorus — “she want that, I give that, she come back, me necesita” — the boys sing about a couple who likes each other so much that they need each other. The single was produced by Savan Kotecha (Ariana Grande, Katy Perry).
“We’re about to witness the most epic match of the year going head to head for the first time,” says a sports commentator in Spanish at the beginning of the music video, which was directed by Isacc Rentz and shot in Los Angeles. Various scenes show Prettymuch and CNCO competing on the field during a soccer match, and on the dance floor during a dance-off.
Despite the intense game, performance, and gravity-defying stunts, the video “ends in a tie,” which then closes off with all ten group members flaunting their crazy dance moves.
