Meet Pr0files — the buzzy synth pop duo coming out of Los Angeles. Comprised of Lauren Pardini and Danny Sternbaum, the group’s first collaboration was back in 2008 under Danny’s prior project The Boy Traveler (which also featured — wait for it — Sonny Moore a.k.a. Skrillex). Splitting off for a brief hiatus, which saw Lauren work with Purity Ring‘s Corin Roddick and A$AP Rocky and Danny focusing on his band Baby Monster, they returned to Pr0files in 2013.
Since then, they’ve been quietly readying their forthcoming debut album, Jurassic Technologie, which arrives this February. And after setting the hype machine ablaze with their latest single “Empty Hands” last month, the group now return with the official video, premiering exclusively on Billboard.
Inspired by Bob Dylan‘s iconic “Subterranean Homesick Blues” clip, the one-take video captures the duo out in the desert, as they reveal intimate details behind the track’s inspiration via cue-cards.
“We went out to Joshua Tree to shoot it with our cinematographer friend,” the duo told Billboard. “It was about 110 degrees outside that day, but we still had a fun time making it. Flipping those lyric cards is a lot harder than it looks!”
