The Democratic National Convention has been rocking throughout the week, with a mix of prominent politicians and superstar musicians taking the (virtual) stage to celebrate the official nominations of Joe Biden and his vice presidential pick, Sen. Kamala Harris.
On night one, Leon Bridges hoped for a “Sweeter” future with a touching performance in honor of George Floyd and the countless other lives lost to racial profiling and police brutality. Maggie Rogers appeared to perform a special acoustic rendition of her song “Back in My Body.” Pose star Billy Porter teamed up with rock legend Stephen Stills for a cover of Buffalo Springfield’s 1966 single “For What It’s Worth” as a salute to those continuing to fight for their rights in America.
Billie Eilish, Prince Royce and Jennifer Hudson rocked the house as the event rolled into its third day. “You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess,” Eilish said before she debuted the new song “My Future,” accompanied by her brother Finneas on keys. Price Royce gave us a bachata moment, and Hudson ended the night with a touching rendition of “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
