Pink has never been one to sit idly by while unrest surrounds her. This time, the singer took to Twitter on Monday (Oct. 9) night to express her disapproval over the job that Pres. Trump has done thusfar in office — though she allowed it might not be too late for him to change for the better.
Since Twitter has yet to give the singer the benefit of 280 characters, she broke her rant into separate tweets. “@POTUS you are doing a terrible job. Worse than every other job you’ve done terrible at. Do you seriously have time to worry about the NFL?” she began. She then followed that with, “I’ve seen people change and turn their lives around. There’s still hope for you @POTUS. It’s what the world needs.”

A troll who had obviously never heard Pink’s music before — or was just trying to wind her up — snapped back at the “Beautiful Trauma” singer with a serious accusation. They tweeted, “Pink used Black music to become very famous. She then shifted while shitting on the genre that introduced her. This ain’t that shocking tbh.”

Pink immediately defended herself, tweeting “Wait- wtf are you talking about? I’m attempting positivity and motivation b/c I’m hopeless. And now youre mad at ME?”

Soon, the entire thing devolved into a mess of trolls thinking Pink voted for the current POTUS, while she was obviously just suggesting that the president still had time to make good choices and act in a way that benefitted the country. Read through some of the standout tweets, below, as Pink tried to sift through the nonsense and reiterate her stance that positivity should rule the day.
I’m sorry y’all. I assumed you all knew who the fuck I am and what the fuck I stand for.

I think this world needs HOPE and LOVE and POSITIVITY and we all need some inspiration to not be SHITTY ALL THE TIME

Some Twitter users seriously had no idea what Pink is all about.

Others put no research behind what they thought were valid criticisms.
@Pink positivity Yes, however, there’s a reason @Oprah, @BarackObama and countless other heavy hitters stay silent–it’s a PR nightmare! — pic.twitter.com/e86xYMQmlK

In the end, Pink reminded all that she’s still a major class act that is not going to stop speaking out for what she believes in — that is, before serving back a bit of the snark she’d been receiving all night.
I pray for love and change and light. I also pray I never become as cynical and snarky and shitty as some of the people on my twitter feed.
