P!nk debuted her take on “A Million Dreams” for the upcoming The Greatest Showman —? Reimagined album on Wednesday (Oct. 23). One day later, an endearing behind-the-scenes video of P!nk and her seven-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart (who performs a reprise of her mother’s song on the album) recording in the studio together was also unveiled.
P!nk’s rendition of the 2017 film’s second song strongly resembles the original, featuring a piano, guitar and orchestra. The biggest difference is the addition of the 39-year-old “What About Us” singer’s dynamic vocals, lending the song an emotion-drenched pop feel.
The sweet behind-the-scenes video shows P!nk mouthing lyrics and nodding encouragingly at her daughter, who is singing into a studio mic. She gives Hart a double thumbs-up as the song concludes.
“I grew up listening to Annie, and no one has done this for me, for my heart, since I was a little girl — and to have her finally have something like this? You made our favorite movie ever,” P!nk says to the film’s director and songwriters in the video. It continues with a montage of P!nk recording her own track, and ends with a clip of the mother-daughter team singing together.
In addition to P!nk’s new release, The Greatest Showman — Reimagined will feature songs from artists including Kelly Clarkson, Panic! At The Disco, Sara Bareilles and Zac Brown Band. The star-studded cover album is available for pre-order now and drops Nov. 16.
