Wearing a colorful skintight bodysuit, Williams walks through the streets of the big city surrounded by people with cartoon happy faces superimposed over their real faces. The faces themselves are upside down, implying that the mask of happiness that people put on can sometimes be noticeably fake.
The visual is Paramore’s first music video in six months, following the release of the clip for “Hard Times,” lead single off their fifth album After Laughter from May. After Laughter comes after a four-year hiatus from the group, following the departure of bassist Jeremy Davis and the return of drummer Zac Farro.
