Following reports of Demi Lovato’s hospitalization Tuesday (July 24) after an apparent overdose, Nick Jonas — one of her earliest friends in the industry and a business partner in Safehouse Records — took to Twitter to wish Lovato well.
“Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter,” he tweeted, adding the hashtag #prayfordemi.

During a 2016 interview for a Billboard cover story, Lovato and Nick Jonas talked about their then-new business partnership and their early friendship through Disney Channel’s Camp Rock movies. They also addressed the aftermath of Lovato punching a dancer on a 2010 Jonas Brothers tour and having to leave the road early.
“I distanced myself as I was getting involved with self-destructive things,” Lovato told Billboard about stepping away from her friendship with Nick at the time. “After treatment, I had to have some time sober before I wasn’t embarrassed to talk to him. Nick says I sent text messages, but I don’t remember shit. The first time we saw each other since that tour was my [2012 Los Angeles] concert at The Greek. We caught up right before the show, then performed. It was an emotional reunion — I got one of my best friends back.”
