
Nick Carter knows as well as anyone that there’s no way to win over the hearts and minds of the people like nostalgia. So naturally, for Dancing With The Stars‘ “most memorable year”-themed episode, he picked 1992, the year he joined Howie, A.J., Kevin, and Brian in forming one of the decade’s most important musical phenomenae: The Backstreet Boys.

With partner Sharna Burgess, Carter performed a throwback routine to “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” a song that the vast majority of 90’s youth probably have their own choreography for. Though Carter’s moves may not be quite as smooth as they were in 1998, he still worked in a few sultry hip swivels and even a faux-spank to match the song’s quasi-risqué tone.
