Every week, Spotify updates their “New Music Friday” playlist, featuring 50 of the freshest new tracks hitting the service that week.
On the heels of Billboard’s partnership with streaming giant, we’ll be tapping Spotify’s editors each week to sift through the soon-to-be-hits and highlight the best of the bunch.
Check out the picks and list to the entire “New Music Friday” playlist below.
Nick Jonas — “Touch”
“Touch” is the latest in a string of hits released by Nick Jonas since he went solo. With a guitar groove leading the way, Nick’s vocals drive the song home and into the top of this week’s New Music Friday.
Usher — “Crash”
Usher is back. “Crash”, the first single from his forthcoming album, Flawed, is driven by tight, minimalistic production and Usher’s signature falsetto pleading to a past relationship. It’s a perfect love song.
Kaleo — “Hot Blood”
This is latest song from Iceland’s need-to-know band, Kaleo, whose debut album, A/B, is out today (June 10). Hot Blood is another sultry fusion of rock, blues, and soul that needs to be on your playlist. Add now!
Bob Marley & The Wailers ft. Lvndscape+Bolier
This gorgeous cover of Marley’s hit started as an instrumental. Leon Bolier and Lvndscape began a year ago after signing with Spinnin Records. Tropical and positive house elements pair perfectly for the summer with this classic vocal.
Jesse & Joy — “Echoes of Love”
Sibling duo Jesse and Joy Huerta debut the highly anticipated English version of their heartbreak anthem “Ecos de Amor.” Joy’s vocals are equally poignant here, surrounded by plush strings and delicate keys. And there’s more where that came from. “Echoes of Love” is a primer for a forthcoming English-language EP.
