morgxn is a fresh indie pop face whose sultry melodies were born at a young age, when the Nashville native’s grandfather, a Vaudeville singer from the same circuit as the legendary Eddie Cantor, helped spark his deep love for singing and songwriting.
Now a bicoastal artist, he’s breaking out on the scene with his debut sensual single “Love You With the Lights On,” which was premiered by Beats 1’s Zane Lowe and digitally via Neon Gold.
Already grabbing ears on Spotify’s Weekend Buzz playlist, morgxn delivers passionate lyrics of yearning love through soaring vocals, surrounded by breathy, electronic echoes.
“I find it really hard to talk about beauty because my whole life has been people telling me what they think is beautiful on me,” morgxn said in a statement about the single, which explores fears of rejection. “The problem is that from early age it was difficult to decipher beauty from danger.”
“Love You With the Lights” on was inspired by themes of warped inner reflections due to oppressive beauty standards, and the idea of shedding light on who we really are — “fierce, loving, beating hearts.”
