After the release of her Billboard cover story, Miley Cyrus is on cloud nine, preparing to release her new single “Malibu.” The 24-year-old singer unveiled the cover art for the song on Instagram Wednesday (May 10), giving her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth a photo cred shout out.
The image depicts Cyrus dressed in a turtleneck sweater laying blissfully on a tailored lawn — and, naturally, sneakily flashing her engagement ring on the edge of the shot.
In her interview with Billboard, Cyrus discussed the sentimental meaning of “Malibu,” suggesting that she’s unafraid to tell it like it is (that is, that she’s in love). “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam,” she said. “So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?”
The video for “Malibu” will be released later today (May 11).
