After releasing an emotional video accepting Donald Trump as president, Miley Cyrus has turned her sorrows into joy. The singer took to Instagram on Thursday (Nov. 10) to announce that she’s done with crying. Instead, she’s “accepting, hopeful, inspired and smiling” and will launch a new campaign called #HopefulHippies that encourages people to take action in their communities.
“I’m asking you to get involved in your own community and make a commitment to the issues you care about, whether it’s donating, volunteering or showing your support!” Cyrus wrote in the caption. “I’m starting off by pledging to education, and I’m excited Happy Hippie will now be supporting classroom projects and schools with DonorsChoose!!”
The “Adore You” singer launched an official website for the campaign — which used Hillary Clinton’s slogan “Stronger Together” — and provides information on an array of topics, from LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, education and more. “People who say WE can’t change the world ARE wrong,” the website’s manifesto read. “We will make some noise and cause a scene! We will challenge each other and the world & will stop pointless judgment.”
Prior to her campaign announcement, the Voice judge also encouraged fans to “be accepting towards his presidency. WE must take a hammer to the bricks WE built up and be more LOVING and compassionate towards all living things! “
