For those disappointed that Miley Cyrus’ free Dead Petz album did not include anything close to a facsimile of “Wrecking Ball’s” forceful pop balladry, the singer has swooped down from her rainbow of love with a special present. On Friday (Oct. 2), Cyrus unveiled “Hands Of Love,” a new single from the new film Freeheld, starring Jullianne Moore and Ellen Page.
“In the hands of love, we carry on/Stronger than we started,” Cyrus sings on the chorus over dramatic backing harmonies. The new single is an inspiring chant along the lines of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” — which makes sense, as Linda Perry helped pen the “Hands Of Love.”
Both of Freeheld’s stars have shouted out Cyrus on social media for recording the theme song to the story about a terminal cancer patient struggling to pass her pension benefits on to her domestic partner:
#HandsOfLove is on iTunes now! @MileyCyrus & @RealLindaPerry made something really special. @freeheldmovie pic.twitter.com/XcxLjBmSSj
