UPDATE: The new Michael Jackson song premiered during Thursday’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, though it was Usher — and not Justin Timberlake — who appeared on stage. Watch it here
The first single off Michael Jackson’s forthcoming album will come tonight during the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards.
According to a tweet from iHeartRadio, the track is called “Love Never Felt So Good” and will be performed with a special guest. Odds are that guest will be Justin Timberlake, as the singer posted a photo of the single album art on Instagram today that lists him as a collaborator with Jackson.
Never mind the pop icon has been dead for five years, “Love Never Felt So Good” is one of eight tracks to appear on Jackson’s poshumous “Xscape” album that will see release May 13.
The song was written in 1983 in a session with Paul Anka and Kathy Wakefield. In 1984 Johnny Mathis released a version.
The awards show will air at 8 p.m. on NBC.
