If you need a little good old fashioned joy in your life, Michael Buble is here for you. The pop crooner is all smiles and light in a teaser for a “Carpool Karaoke” segment he filmed with Late Late Show host James Corden that will air on England’s Channel 4 on Friday (Oct. 26) as part of a Stand Up to Cancer U.K. benefit special.
The preview has the dynamic duo belting out Buble’s 2009 hit “Haven’t Met You Yet” with as much energy, joy and enthusiasm as can possibly be contained in a vehicle, complete with finger snapping and air trumpet. The pals then segue into 2013’s “It’s a Beautiful Day,” another original that they perform with all their might.
Buble recently shut down rumors that he is planning to retire from music after saying he was misquoted in an interview. The Grammy-winning singer, whose eighth studio album, Love, is due out on Nov. 16, stepped away from music for two years because of his son Noah’s cancer battle, but he said he’s not going anywhere. “I’m not strong enough to deal with it, so I don’t deal with it,” he said. “By the way, those friends that wrote me, I said to them ‘Thank you so much for caring about my well-being. Do me a favor, don’t share it with me. Send me pictures of your kids and tell me how you’re doing, because I much rather know about that.’”
