Mariah Carey posted a pic from the studio on Wednesday (Aug. 26), where she was recording the audiobook version of her upcoming memoir, The Meaning of Mariah. “Not to add to your to-do list dahhling, but I’m also recording an audio book,” Carey tweeted, along with a picture of her smiling face as she leaned into a mic in her black silk jammies while holding the galleys of her life’s story.
The post, of course, drove the Lambily crazy, with superfans, include singer JoJo, properly freaking out in comments. “Omfg,” JoJo wrote along with crying and heart eyes emoji. It’s been a bountiful week for the Carey nation, which also saw Mariah posting a gorgeous throwback picture of her curly hair era and releasing the new song, “Save The Day,” the lead single from her upcoming album of deep cuts and previously unreleased treasures, The Rarities.
The song features vocals by Ms. Lauryn Hill, courtesy of a sample from the Fugees‘ 1996 hit “Killing Me Softly,” with Carey harmonizing over Hill’s iconic lines in the bridge for a transcendent moment of pure R&B goodness. The Meaning of Mariah is due out on Sept. 29.
