Mariah Carey continued her #MC30 celebration of her three decades of hits on Friday (July 24) with the release of remix EPs of “Someday” and “There’s Got To Be a Way,” featuring hard-to-find and unreleased makeovers of the tracks from her 1990 self-titled debut album.
Though “Someday” is a Lambily favorite, “Way” was only released as a single in the UK, so the five mixes of the track are a revelation.
Both EPS mix hard-to-find remixes with unreleased versions, with “Someday” offering up eight varieties, including a 7″ Jackswing” take, as well as the “New 12″ House Mix,” “Pianoapercaplla,” “House Dub” and “New Jack Bonus Beats.”
The five-track “Got To Be a Way” EP includes a 7″ and 12″ remix, as well as a “Vocal Dub,” “Alt. Vocal Dub” and “Sample Dub” mix.
It’s already been a great week for the Carey Nation, with a video snapshot from the past dropping on Thursday (July 23) featuring a 20-year-old Mariah warming up her vocals with her backup singers by running through “All In Your Mind.” Last week, Carey released a digital EP featuring her first live performance from New York’s Club Tatou in Oct. 1990.
