Mariah Carey is taking the director’s chair for the upcoming Hallmark film A Christmas Melody, and she hand-picked her favorite Mean Girls actress to take the lead.
Yes, Gretchen “I’m sorry that people are so jealous of me…but I can’t help it that I’m so popular” Weiners, a.k.a actress Lacey Chabert, will take the lead role in the holiday film, TMZ reports.

The film started shooting on Tuesday (Oct. 6) in Cincinnati, and Chabert posted a very fetch “first day at work” selfie on Instagram.
“First day at work. Taking a quick break and #kitty jumps up and lays on me,” Chabert wrote in the caption. “She never does this at home- only when I’m working. I think this is her way of trying to get me to stay in my dressing room and not to go back to set.”
