Mariah Carey was all smiles in a recent Instagram post with former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, sparking a plethora of reactions from fans on Tuesday, (Nov. 20.)
“Such an honor to meet @kaepernick7 today,” the 48-year-old singer captioned the photo. Carey and Kaepernick are both grinning, wide-eyed, as they stand next to each other in the photo.
The 31-year-old former NFL star became a controversial figure in 2016 after kneeling during the NFL’s pre-game national anthem, in protest of police brutality and injustices towards people of color. Soon after, many NFL players followed with their own similar silent protests that season.
