“Outtakes from our Christmas road trip!” she tweeted alongside the compilation of clips set to — naturally — “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” In the clip, the icon lip syncs to her holiday hit in footie pajamas emblazoned with her (animated) face. Elsewhere in the video, she dances alongside Dem Babies — also adorned in cozy sleepwear — showering them with affection and a copious amount of silver tinsel.
And while Mimi didn’t reveal where she and her kids were headed on their road trip, she’s had plenty of reasons to celebrate this Christmas season. They include the release of her latest festive Apple TV+ event, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, featuring Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg and more, as well as the launch of Mariah’s Cookies, her online dessert brand now available for delivery in more than 30 major markets through apps such as Grubhub, DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats, Seamless and her own website.
Meanwhile, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this month for the second year in a row, after first reaching the chart’s summit in 2019, 25 years after it was originally released as the lead single off 1994’s Merry Christmas.
As of the chart dated Dec. 19, the Christmas classic has spent four weeks at No. 1, continuing Carey’s reign as the sole artist in Billboard history to earn a No. 1 hit across four separate decades.
