Let us take bow for Lorde, the pop royalty who is currently reigning over the industry with her first No. 1 album, Melodrama.To celebrate the recent announcement of her sophomore album’s chart-topping achievement on the Billboard 200, Lorde took to Twitter to thank her fans for her recent success in a serious of grateful tweets.
The singer was humbled by Melodrama’s success, revealing that her younger self never imagined being able to create a massive, unique album like her recent release. She shared that she thought successful pop albums had “to be sterile & calculated in craft” and “that 15yo me would have been so f–king proud” of what she created with collaborator Jack Antonoff.
Lorde’s first album, 2013’s Pure Heroine, debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
