Josh Groban captivated The Late Show with a moving rendition of “She’s Always a Woman” off his Bridges album on Monday night (Nov. 19), bringing his signature charm to the beloved pop classic.
Sitting alone at a piano, Groban’s warm operatic voice melted into Billy Joel’s 1977 love song, as he sang, “She can kill with a smile/ She can wound with her eyes/ She can ruin your faith with her casual lies/ And she only reveals what she wants you to see/ She hides like a child/ But she’s always a woman to me.”
The 37-year-old baritone was joined by an accordion player as his voice gained strength into the lines, “Oh, she takes care of herself/ She can wait if she wants/ She’s ahead of her time.”
