Following a sensational performance of “Pray” at the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Jan. 28), English crooner Sam Smith took to Stage 56 to perform another hit off his latest album The Thrill of It All for the Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday night (Jan. 29).
Performing “One Last Song,” Smith dazzled with his incredible falsetto, and like his performance of “Too Good At Goodbyes” on the Late Late Show in November 2017, he was backed by an assortment of dimly lit vintage lamps with his band, backup singers and a group of fans in the background as well.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Smith told host Clara Amfo that “One Last Song” is “the final song for the guy who the first album was about,” and lyrics such as “Maybe one day I won’t sing about you/ I’ll sing a song about someone new/ But right here, right now, you are on my mind/ And I think about you all the time,” echo that statement.
