British-American singer Bishop Briggs, who dropped her debut album Church of Scars on Friday (Apr. 20), stormed the stage of The Late Late Show Thursday night (Apr. 19) for an energized performance of her latest fist-bumping single “White Flag.” Rocking her signature tight-knit double buns, black and white checkered shorts and high-knee red and white socks, Briggs stood underneath a fluorescent blue light as she sang the opening lyrics.
“Take a hit, shut me down, shut me down,” she sang as fog enveloped her and she bounced around on her toes like a prizefighter waiting for the bell to ring. As the drums entered, Briggs danced across the stage preparing to explode into the song’s rambunctious chorus.
When the chorus came around, Briggs’ light footwork transformed into full jumping as she threw herself across the stage singing with a growl “won’t wave my white flag, no, this time I won’t let go.” Briggs’ vocals radiated in the third verse when the band quieted down, “Won’t wave my white flag no, I’d rather die,” she sang with pitch-perfect clarity before attacking the chorus one last time.
