Aside from serenading guests at Kim and Kanye’s wedding rehearsal dinner Friday night, Lana Del Rey is taking advantage of the holiday weekend to drop her new track “Shades of Cool”.
The icy singer debuted the single Monday with the iTunes pre-sale launch of her upcoming album “Ultraviolence”, produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.
On “Shades of Cool” Del Rey teams up again with frequent collaborator songwriter Rick Nowels, delivering a sweeping, atmospheric ballad that contrasts the more pop-savvy swaggering “West Coast”.
Del Rey sings on the track, “My baby lives in shades of cool Blue heart and hands and aptitude He lives for love, for women, too.”
