A couture-clad Lady Gaga graces V Magazine’s March/April cover today (March 5), marking 10 years of her first V cover.
Gaga wears a large feathered headset with white-powdered face makeup, a long black gown and a pink-feathered robe as she poses with neon sticks. The singer was fashioned by renowned French designer Jean-Paul Goude.
“We tried to turn Gaga into a living doll, a living icon, like the figurines that people collect and put on their mantelpiece, but life size,” explained Jean-Paul Goude in V’s Instagram post caption.
V also published an article detailing their long-time relationship with the multifaceted pop icon, and how their editor-in-chief Stephen Gan always wanted Goude and Gaga to work together, but the timing was never right — until now.
“Said rendezvous launched a 10-year expedition, wading through a world of beautiful creative chaos — the combination of Gan and Gaga, whose love of the fashion canon was matched only by their desire to revolutionize it — culminating in this very moment,” the article reads. “It marks Gaga’s 25th cover with V Magazine.”
