Lady Gaga recently opened up about her struggle with post traumatic stress disorder caused by sexual assault and previous traumas, all of which Piers Morgan has basically called B.S. Now the two are setting up an interview to debate the merits of Gaga’s claims.
Gaga first revealed she faces PTSD on a segment for Today where she visited the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBTQ youth in New York. She followed that up with a letter posted to her Born This Way Foundation website, elaborating on the disorder. Most recently, she thanked Madonna for her “brave and strong” Billboard Women in Music acceptance speech, which touched on issues of feminism, misogyny and more.
Morgan, meanwhile, wasn’t buying any of it. First responded to Gaga’s PTSD claims, asserting it was “vain-glorious nonsense” and claiming outrage that she would use this to “promote” herself. He went on to state that Gaga and Madonna’s “allegations” of rape are simply that, since they did not file any police reports.
No, soldiers returning from battlefields do.
Enough of this vain-glorious nonsense. https://t.co/WR2ODolv8v— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 10, 2016
I come from a big military family.
It angers me when celebrities start claiming ‘PTSD’ about everything to promote themselves. https://t.co/IeSiGQkOjb— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 10, 2016
No.
Lady Gaga & Madonna have both made ALLEGATIONS of rape many years after the event.
No police complaint, no charges, no court case. https://t.co/N8oWjcMKAC— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 10, 2016
I don’t think all claims of rape should be necessarily accepted as fact without proper criminal investigation, do you? https://t.co/ogFjSUmgTU
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 10, 2016
I wouldn’t automatically believe anything either Madonna or Lady Gaga claimed about their lives. https://t.co/4JJcP17cjp

Eventually, Gaga responded, tweeting with a respectful but assertive tone, offering to help educate him and his viewers about why women often don’t report rape. Naturally, he agreed. They will also discuss that PTSD is “not just a ‘military’ disorder,” as Gaga put it.
No interview has been officially announced yet.
@piersmorgan I’ve work w/ our VP Joe Biden on helping educate people about why women don’t report, would love to share it w/ you some time.

OK, you’re on.
Let’s do an interview about this & you can tell me why I’m wrong to be sceptical. https://t.co/CFLOL06Emq— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2016
@piersmorgan would also love to talk with you about PTSD, that it’s not just a “military” disorder. There is a mental health youth epidemic.

@piersmorgan if anyone in your family suffers from it, I pray they have more good days than bad. It has affected me & my whole family.????

I know numerous soldiers with PTSD, it’s a very serious thing.
I also know people who claim to have it but clearly don’t.
Let’s talk… https://t.co/ZTk5mSZLBt— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2016
