Ever since she hit the music world, Lady Gaga has been a vocal supporter of LBGT rights, even calling her sophomore album Born This Way. So it’s no surprise that the same woman who sang “No matter gay, straight or bi/ Lesbian, transgendered life” on that album’s title track is also lauding Bruce Jenner for his interview with Diane Sawyer about being transgender, airing Friday night (April 24) on 20/20.

The pop star took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to ask people around the world to have compassion for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians patriarch as he shares his journey publicly.
Elton John also spoke out about Jenner’s journey, telling Access Hollywood that the Olympic athlete’s transition is “an incredibly brave thing to do, especially when you’re older. I admire him for doing it and I support him 100 percent.”
20/20 airs at 9 p.m. on ABC.
I pray this Sawyer/Jenner interview will be met with compassion. This is an important world issue. #BeBraveEnoughToBeKind
