Kylie Minogue has parted ways with Roc Nation after two years, Billboard can confirm.
The Australian pop star had joined Jay Z’s label and entertainment company after splitting amicably with her manager of 25 years, Terry Blamey, at the end of 2012. It was a period in her life when she “wanted to shake things up,” she explained in a statement supplied by a rep.
Minogue had been added to the “Management” section of Roc Nation’s site by February 2013, where she joined its roster alongside such artists as Rihanna, Solange, M.I.A., Shakira and Timbaland. With the switch, many thought Kylie would turn her attention to making movies.

“I’ve had an amazing time with Roc Nation and it’s been fantastic to team up with them over the last two years,” Kylie says in the new note. “We got together at a period in my life when I wanted to shake things up. I loved collaborating with Roc on the ‘Kiss Me Once’ album, world tour and DVD and have made great friends in the process. I’m now looking forward to my upcoming summer gigs and embarking on new adventures. And I want to thank everyone at Roc Nation who have been on this incredible ride with me”.
Since coming on board with Roc Nation, Kylie has stayed firmly in the spotlight, as usual. She enjoyed a stint as a coach on the U.K. and Australian versions of The Voice, and released Kiss Me Once, her 12th studio album.
Kiss Me Once did solid business, but it wasn’t the sales juggernaut some observers had been anticipating. The album opened at No. 1 last year in Australia (through Mushroom/Warner Music Australia), No. 2 in her adopted homeland, the U.K (through Parlophone/Warner Music), and peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard 200.

Kiss Me Once was Kylie’s fourth album to top the ARIA Albums chart, following X (December 2007), Fever (October 2001), and Light Years (October 2000). In Britain, she’s had five albums hit No. 1. Kylie has just wrapped her Kiss Me Once arena tour of Australia and she’ll entertain the crowds at this week’s Dubai World Cup. Her European tour starts June. 12 at Skovdalen, in Aalborg, Denmark
Kylie has sold more than 65 million albums over her career. Her trophy room includes Brit Awards, Grammys and in 2007 she became the first-ever woman (and first foreigner) to receive Britain’s prestigious Music Industry Trusts’ Award.
