Kesha is ready to make a comeback. Last year, the pop star hopped on a new version of Zedd’s “True Colors,” and we recently reported that she was recording new music with Eagles Of Death Metal. And now, after spending years unable to release any music and fighting an ongoing legal battle against her allegedly abusive producer and label boss Dr. Luke, she seems to be about to release a new single.
She apparently co-directed a music video for a new song called “Woman” with her brother Logan, and a minute-long snippet of the country-tinged tune has surfaced online on a Kesha fan Instagram. “I do what I want/ Say what you say/ I work real hard every day,” Kesha sings while cruising down the road in a red cowboy hat and matching suit in a car packed with mustachioed compatriots. “I’m a motherf–kin’ woman, baby, alright/ I don’t need a man to be holding me too tight.” A spokesperson for Kesha could not be reached for comment on the song or a timetable for the release of new music; the singer has not released a new studio album since 2012’s Warrior.
