Kesha‘s been busy over the past month. The singer — who hasn’t released a new album since 2012’s Warrior due to an ongoing legal battle with former producer/mentor Dr. Luke — revealed some new ink and a breathtaking photo on Tuesday (Jan. 10) accompanied by an empowering message.
The first post featured an image of a pink and yellow whale on her arm with the message, “Psychedelic whales are slowly covering my entire body…” The whale joins a blue Narwhal tat she revealed several months ago.

A short time later, the singer followed with an epic pic in front of a frozen waterfall accompanied by a message of strength. “The pain and strength it takes to climb a mountain is difficult,” she wrote alongside a a black and white image in which she’s wearing a hooded black tunic, with her arms held up by her sides and her face pointed toward the sky. “But the top is f—ing breathtaking.”

Back in December at the Billboard Women in Music event the singer — who is locked in an ongoing legal battle with Luke (born Lukasz Gottwald) in an attempt to break free of her recording contract with him following allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse (which he has denied) — said that the new music she’s working on will “showcase my vulnerabilities as a strength and not as a weakness.”
Shortly after that event she posted a series of updates on her studio sessions, teasing “just got back a mix of me and someone singing a duet crying happy tears” and “to the studio with a friend hope he wins the Grammy for producer of the year this year!!!”
