Backstage at Billboard Women in Music, we asked the stars of the night how they felt about the #MeToo movement. Here is what they said.
Kelly Clarkson talked to Billboard about how the emotional toll caused by the news cycle will ultimately turn into a positive for society. “This is gonna impact positive change,” she said. “It looks real dark right now, and you get bummed out when you’re watching the news. But all I can say is, at least maybe we’re gonna fix some things that maybe not everybody knew was going on.”
“And not just for my kids,” she added. “I hope that this kind of crap isn’t around then. Although it’s been around for ages. So, here’s to hoping!”
Clarkson has been gaining a lot of buzz for her latest album, Meaning of Life. Lead single “Love So Soft” was nominated for a Grammy for best pop solo performance.
