The Voice’s newest judge Kelly Clarkson stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform a soulful rendition of her breakup hit “Didn’t I” Tuesday night (Feb. 27), off her 2017 album Meaning Of Life.
The stripped-back version swapped out the synths for a piano and featured a twangy guitar over Clarkson’s epic vocals. The singer also sat down with Meyers to talk about “messing around” with her Voice costars. “I do go in on Blake a lot. But he’s kind of a giant target,” Clarkson said. “I’m kind of annoyingly competitive.”
Speaking to her competitiveness, Meyers then reminded Clarkson of a drinking competition that the two had last year. He showed a clip of Clarkson and himself getting drunk and screaming on a rooftop. “There was a good five minutes of me not talking, just laughing, that they had to edit out,” the singer said.
Clarkson also described her meeting with Steve Carell, who famously screamed out the singer’s name in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and discussed her cardboard cutout of Meryl Streep. Check out her performance and other Late Night clips below.
