Kelly Clarkson added to her arsenal of impeccable live covers by taking on Khalid and Normani’s “Love Lies” at her latest tour stop in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday (Jan. 30).
Sporting a voluminous ponytail and white sequined top, the pop superstar was flanked by a trio of backup singers as she belted out the pair’s sultry 2018 hit from inside the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
Upon seeing a clip of the performance on social media, Normani had nothing but reverence for the American Idol champ taking on her song, tweeting, “Damn that’s Kelly Clarkson singing my song *moment of silence*,” in response.
The two-time winning coach of The Voice is currently on tour in support of her 2017 album Meaning of Life.
