Kelly Clarkson closed out the week on her daily talk show with a double-shot of Kellyoke goodness. The first jolt came courtesy of Thursday’s (Oct. 29) with a moody ramble through 4 Non Blondes’ breakthrough 1993 hit “What’s Up?,” which Clarkson belted while bathed in blue and pink light while rocking a sharp pin-striped suit.
Did she hit the titanic note before the chorus? Do you have to even ask? And then, Halloween came early on Friday (Oct. 30) with a spooky, dress-up version of the Bee Gees‘ 1977 Saturday Night Fever classic “Stayin’ Alive.”
Dressed in a shimmering silver gown accented by a white boa and blonde hair, Clarkson entered by dramatically descending a staircase as she gave the song’s first verse a chilling, slowed-down makeover.
Joined by her back-up singers on the fog-shrouded stage, Kelly then scared up a full audience of dancing zombies on video screens behind her as she ripped through the disco ditty in front of a band that included an Elvis and Andy Warhol. Think “Thriller”-meets-dancing-queen. It’s been a pretty stellar couple of weeks for KellyOke fans, who’ve been gifted with a great Adam Lambert cover, as well as Natalie Imbruglia‘s “Torn.”
