Kelly Clarkson got the house rockin’ with her latest Kellyoke cover when she took on fellow American Idol alum Adam Lambert’s 2009 track “Whataya Want From Me.”
Rocking a Janis Joplin t-shirt and a rainbow-colored maxi skirt, Clarkson imbued the single — from Lambert’s debut studio album For Your Entertainment — with her usual dose of Southern soul, as the arrangement built up to a boiling rock crescendo.
While Clarkson took home the first Idol crown, Lambert famously came in second in season 8, but has gone on to a solo career and second gig as the frontman of Queen.
Clarkson has been on a roll lately, bringing the house to tears with her Kellyoke cover of Natalie Imbruglia‘s “Torn” last week, as well as an emotional version of Norah Jones‘ “Don’t Know Why” and getting together with her fellow Voice coaches for a version of Bob Marley‘s “One Love.”
