Katy Perry will take her “Prismatic” world tour to Australia later this year.
The pop singer’s trek will visit arenas in each of the country’s five big cities, promoters Dainty Group announced today. As the itinerary currently looks, her seven-date tour Down Under will kick off in Perth on Nov. 7, then head east for shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and finish in Brisbane.
The Australian dates will cap a global trek which starts in May and has numerous shows locked-in across Europe and North America.
“We are honored to be promoting Katy’s tour in Australia,” comments Paul Dainty, chairman of Dainty Group, the company which staged Eminem’s recent stadium run of these parts. “She is the hottest star in the world, her single and album sales are staggering and Australians adore her.”

The general on-sale starts March 11, though customers of the Testra telecoms company have access to a 48-hour pre-sale from March 5 through the tour’s partnership with Telstra Thanks.
Australia is one of Perry’s biggest markets, where combined albums and singles sales are upwards of 4.6 million units — solid numbers for a country with a population of 23 million.
Perry has been been a mainstream star in Australia since “I Kissed A Girl” cracked the top spot on the Australian singles chart in 2008. Her follow-up “Hot N Cold” reached No. 4 and was synced to the “Masterchef” reality TV series, a regular ratings blockbuster.

Her latest album “Prism” debuted at No. 1 in Australia in 2013, and is her second successive chart-topping album here after “Teenage Dream” led the survey in September 2010. “Prism” is now certified triple platinum (210,000 units), while the first single from it, the long-time No. 1 “Roar,” is certified nine-times platinum (630,000 units). Perry’s latest single, “Dark Horse,” is already triple platinum.
Concert dates in Auckland, New Zealand will be announced at a later date.
Perry isn’t the only hot ticket in Australia this year. A cadre of A-listers have announced tours in recent days, including Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Robbie Williams, while a Justin Timberlake tour is rumored to be on the cards.
