A bunch of stars came out on Sunday (Feb. 25) to raise money for the first responders and victims of the devastating Thomas blaze, one of the biggest-ever wildfires to hit Southern California. According to KEYT, the Kick Ash Bash at the Bella Vista Polo club in Summerland, California, the benefit for 2,300 first responders raised money for emergency services, equipment and survivor relief in the wake of the fire and the deadly mudslides in Montecito that followed.
Among the artists performing at the event — that raised more than $1.8 million through sponsorships before the doors opened — were: David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Dishwalla, Alan Parsons and Friends, Glen Phillips, Steve Vai, Richard Marx, Wilson Phillips and Kenny Loggins, with comedian Dennis Miller acting as emcee. The packed roster also featured David Crosby, The Doors’ Robby Krieger and The Caverns.
Oh, and Katy Perry dropped by too! The surprise performer was swarmed by fans at the event, where she took the stage in a white t-shirt and flowy skirt to perform an acoustic versions of “Part of Me” and “Firework.”
