Katy Perry energized the crowd at a Des Moines, Iowa, concert in support of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign with a performance of “Roar,” “Wide Awake,” “America the Beautiful” and “Firework.” The rally took place before the Iowa Democratic Party dinner on Saturday, Oct. 24.

“How many of you are going to be 18 next year, before November? Are you going to vote? Because you know you have the power, right?” Perry asked from the stage. “Listen, you have so much power and this is going to be one of the most important elections in over a decade. So much change can happen. Let’s go Hillary!”
“She’s my firework,” Perry, wearing a white gown with Clinton’s campaign logo pinned on the front along with an American flag cape, added before the Democratic presidential candidate appeared onstage with her.
“Sometimes, it’s important: You just have to roar about what you need to fight for,” Clinton said.

Before Perry took the stage, former president Bill Clinton spoke to the Des Moines crowd in support of his wife’s 2016 campaign.
“Great to be in Iowa with @HillaryClinton & be the warmup act for @KatyPerry #hillyes #roar,” Bill Clinton later tweeted, captioning a photo of himself with Perry.

The pop star also took over Hillary Clinton’s Instagram account for the rally, sharing a photo of her 2016 campaign-inspired manicure and a selfie with Clinton.
Earlier in the day, Perry recorded a 5:30 a.m. wake-up phone call that was sent to Clinton’s Iowa organizers, the Associated Press reports. “Wake-y, wake-y! Eggs and bakey. It’s Katy Perry here,” she said. “I know it’s early, but you know what they say, the early bird gets the votes.”
