A few months ago, Justin Timberlake shared a fruity creation on Instagram that surely had some fans making their own shortly after: The braspberry, which is made simply by putting a blueberry inside of a raspberry. “Is it a coincidence that the blueberry fits in the raspberry perfectly? I think not,” the singer quipped in a short, funny video unveiling the braspberry.
Is it a coincidence that Timberlake also happens to be the spokesperson (aka Chief Flavor Officer) for Bai, a beverage that features both of the antioxidant fruits? Even if it is, Bai is certainly taking advantage of JT’s genius invention.
The latest TV spot for Bai, titled “This Just In,” sees Timberlake appearing on a faux news broadcast about the beverage’s impressive five calories and no artificial sweeteners. But of course, Timberlake was on to show the world the braspberry, hilariously forcing the newscaster to try one.
In another coincidence, the commercial is part of Bai’s summer campaign, which highlights the fact that — much like the blueberry and raspberry — Bai has two things that don’t normally go together: great taste and good for you. The :15- and :30-second fake news broadcast ads will appear on late night shows such as Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as various cable networks (E!, USA, etc.) and premium digital channels (Hulu, YouTube, Spotify, etc.) through September.
