Justin Timberlake just started promoting Sauza tequila, after selling his own 901 tequila brand to the company last year. Now, he’s appearing in Sauza 901 Tequila ads — only, an appearance from Timberlake as Timberlake was apparently not sufficient for the company’s brand-management strategy.
No, they needed Timberlake to appear as an anthropomorphic lime (?) who may or may not give you nightmares. In the documentary-style ad, Timberlake is a lime named Rick “Sour” Vane who apparently lived a rock-star lifestyle as a bar necessity (and thusly has a heavy New York accent and sports a Hefner-esque robe).
