
Following the recent death of Prince‘s drummer, John Blackwell Jr., Justin Timberlake took to Twitter to share his condolences and pay tribute to his former collaborator.
On Wednesday (July 5) Timberlake, who toured with Blackwell in 2006 following the release of FutureSex/LoveSounds, tweeted the heartfelt message, “You are a kind, gentle soul and one special talented. you will be missed by myself and so many.”

It was announced on Tuesday (July 4) that Blackwell had passed away from a brain tumor. Like Timberlake, a number of other musicians have also paid tribute to the late drummer online, including Travis Barker of Blink-182 and bass player Nik West.
