It’s the season for fun, giving and chilling. No need to tell Justin Bieber, he’s clearly in the mood.
The Canadian pop star apparently surprised shoppers when he dropped by Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall on Saturday and hung out for a selfie with Santa. Sure, Santa is a regular at every mall this time of year. This guy is different. Yorkdale’s “Fashion Santa” helps promote the SickKids Foundation.
For every selfie tweeted with the hashtag #YorkdaleFashionSanta, the mall donates a dollar to the Hospital for Sick Children’s charitable arm.
Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Yorkdale general manager Claire Santamaria said Bieber’s support for the social media fundraiser had given a boost to the SickKids Foundation’s campaign.
“It’s been fantastic,” Santamaria said in the article published Sunday. “It’s received international attention.” “Because of the success of this program, we’ve told the SickKids Foundation $10,000 is absolutely a possibility.”
Bieber’s selfie with Fashion Santa has since been retweeted more than 800 times.
